		<abstract>Realistic image synthesis is an area of great interest in Computer Graphics. In step of this perfectly, one would have to keep track of all the details involved in interactions between light and matter. The colours of the objects can be described by their RGB coordinates or by their spectral curves. This paper makes a comparative analysis of both approaches in order to obtain a basis that would allow us to make an adequate evaluation and selection of a colour model.</abstract>
